According to Deadline the show will follow several characters of freedom fighters, slave hunters, abolitionist and more.
It will take place during a time where the Southern states have seceded from the Union, slavery is still legal and “has evolved into a modern institution.”
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will team up with producers as well as writers from “Empire” and “The Good Wife.”
HBO said, “As the brilliant Game Of Thrones winds down to its final season, we are thrilled to be able to continue our relationship with Dan and David, knowing that any subject they take on will result in a unique and ambitious series.”
The creators have been talking about “Confederate” for quite some time now and it was supposed to be a feature film, but decided to go a different way.
Some fans of the creators though are not happy about this next project.
