After months of reports of ailing health, Bishop Eddie Long has passed away. The leader of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church unexpectedly became embroiled in controversy, after Kim Burrell commented about his health during a polarizing sermon, and many came to his defense.

The cause of Bishop Long’s death has not been announced, but several reports and shocking photos released before his death caused many to speculate he was battling cancer. Please keep his wife Vanessa, their children and his church family in your thoughts and prayers.
