A video from over 20 years ago of the singer performing her high energy song “Hold My Mule” sparked the #UNameItChallenge and has gone viral thanks to Chris Brown and others. But Ms. Shirley told TMZ although she’s excited about everything going on, she’s not here for the gyrations.
She said, “I’m really excited about what’s going on, in fact, it’s mind bogglin. I’m not use to this, I really don’t understand it. When you look and see all of the gyrations, and especially the women – I can even put up with the dancing. But all of the shaking and the twerking, all of that, I just want everybody to know that I’m a gospel singer, I’m a born again believer, I’m a pastor, and I don’t ever want anything to bring a reflection on what I stand for.”
Pastor Caesar ends the video singing her now infamous Thanksgiving track. Check it out above.
