Mo’Nique And Her Husband Are In Serious Trouble

Mo’Nique has been absent on the acting scene for the past few years, but now the actress is making headlines in a different way.
According to reports, the Academy Award winner and her husband are accused of failing to pay their taxes for two years, and now the government says they owe nearly $400,000. Official records in Georgia show the IRS filed a Federal Tax Lien against Mo’Nique and hubby Sidney Hicks on May 9th.
The lien states that the couple refused to pay their taxes for the years 2013 and 2014. In 2013, they owed $201,695.99, and in 2014, they owed $188,208.99, bringing the total to $389,904.98. The federal government has threatened to seize the couple’s property and assets if they don’t pay. They own a 10,600 square-foot home in Duluth, Georgia they bought for $2.8 million in 2007.
The last time we heard from the star was back in February 2015, when she spoke about allegedly being ‘blackballed’ in Hollywood after her Oscar win, claiming executives labeled her difficult to work with.
