Ciara just released a beautiful black-and-white video for her song “I Got You,” which celebrates her son Future and chronicles her journey into the beautiful world of motherhood.
In the first moments of the video she also reveals that she waited until she was six months pregnant to tell her parents the news! She captured their shocked, yet ecstatic reactions to the news of their grandchild on video.
The video is adorable and loving. Included in the video are clips of baby Future taking a bath, mommy Ciara playing with him and Future tagging along at photo shoots and in the studio.
In the lyrics, she sings:
I’ll crawl over broken glass, I will stand in the flame
Take the bullet, take the blows, I would take all the pain
Anything, anything that you gotta get through
Hey, hey, I got you
Hey, hey, I got you
While her engagement to the rapper Future (her child’s father) sadly didn’t get them to the altar, Ciara has endlessly gushed about her bundle of joy.
Most recently she told PEOPLE magazine: “This song is very special to me as it’s dedicated to my son. I cried in the process of recording [it]. This album truly marks one of the most special times in my life.”
Becoming a mommy has also helped her pay tribute to her own mother as well, as it’s named Jackie, her mother’s name.
