Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union may look like they have the perfect relationship from the outside, but according to the NBA champion they have their ups and downs just like any other couple.

During a recent interview with Jay Leno, Dwyane revealed that he and Gabby quietly took a break from their relationship earlier this year. He cited hectic work schedules as the reason for the split.
“Celebrity relationships are very hard. For us this was a big year for our relationship from the standpoint she was shooting her show, “Being Mary Jane” and gone most of the year. I was dealing with my injuries [and] trying to win a championship. So we kind of took a step back,” he said. W”e supported each other but we took a step back for a little while.”
He went on to say that they eventually found themselves back in each others’ arms.
“At the end of the day, we came back together and said we want to continue this and we want to get better each day,” he said. “She’s been with me and I’ve been with her all summer long. We’re going strong now.”
The lovebirds have been publicly dating since 2009.
