Nicki Minaj may have had fans scratching their heads with her oft-talked about Grammy performance, but she believes her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is important to hip-hop. MTV News scored an interview with Minaj while she was in Orlando performing at the All-Star Game.

Nicki says her second single, “Roman Reloaded” is just a preview of what’s to come on the album. “I know what the people need right now,” she told MTV News. Minaj also promised April 3rd, the release date of the album, to be huge for music across all genres. Nicki said, “April 3 is gonna be a doozy. It’s gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be important for just Hip-Hop culture and pop culture. It’s gonna be very big.”
