Beyonce’s upcoming album “4” kicks it old school with samples from hip-hop legends Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh, and harmonizing hitmakers Boyz II Men. While her “Run The World (Girls)” sample from Major Lazer was barely that (at just two years old), expect to hear some reminiscent classics on the rest of her tracks.

“Party,” features André 3000 and reportedly samples “La Di Da Di,” the 1985 classic by the hip-hop pioneers. The original record contains the unmistakable lyrics, “La di da di, we like to party.”

Boyz II Men’s slow jam “Uhh Ahh” also makes a cameo on “Countdown,” according to Sony Music’s German site.

Considering Beyonce boasted that she’d be making her “own genre” of music this time around, how do you feel about her sampling oldies?
