Redman recently set the record straight about his relationship with Method Man outside of work, making it clear that they don’t spend much time together when they’re not performing. While speaking on the Julian Dorey Podcast, he didn’t hold back when asked if he and his longtime collaborator still hang out.

“Hell no!” he said with a laugh. “We do shows and then we go home. I don’t hang out with a lot of rappers at all. This is work, this is home. Once we’re off the road, it’s like, ‘You’ve got family to take care of, I’ve got my own stuff to handle.’”

Redman explained that while he keeps in touch with some artists over the phone, he prefers to keep his circle small. The only rappers he regularly spends time with are DoItAll from Lords of The Underground and Treach when they cross paths. He also has a close bond with DJ Kid Capri, calling him his “big bro.”

As for music, Redman would love to team up with Method Man again for a Blackout! 3 album, but Meth has his sights set elsewhere. In a conversation with Red Bull Spiral, Redman mentioned wanting to drop a 12-track project, but Method Man made it clear that’s not his focus.

“We’re not even thinking about Blackout! or any of that right now,” Meth said. “We’re focused on TV, movies, and producing. We’ve got stories to tell.”

The duo first joined forces for Blackout! in 1999, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. A decade later, they followed up with Blackout! 2, which also landed in the top 10. At one point, a third installment seemed like a done deal, but the plans never materialized.

These days, Method Man is thriving in Hollywood, racking up over 100 acting credits. Meanwhile, Redman remains active in music and continues to perform. While a Blackout! 3 isn’t on the horizon, their chemistry and legacy in hip-hop are still undeniable.
