Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing new legal trouble, as Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard has filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault, abuse, and mistreatment during their time working together at Bad Boy Records. In her suit, Richard alleges that she witnessed Combs physically abuse his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, on multiple occasions, describing disturbing incidents of violence.

Richard claims one such incident occurred four years after she first witnessed abuse, when she saw Combs allegedly “high on drugs” throw Ventura against a wall, choke her, and drag her up a flight of stairs in his Los Angeles home. In another alleged episode, Richard says she saw Combs throw a hot pan of eggs at Cassie while screaming, “I’ve been asking you for my s–t; I can’t stand you, bitch. You never do it right!” Richard also claims she saw Combs punch Ventura in the face and attempt to strangle her with his bare hands.

When Richard and her fellow Dirty Money bandmate Kalenna Harper tried to step in and support Cassie, Combs allegedly responded with threats, telling them, “Y’all bitches don’t get in my relationship” and “You bitches want to die today?” Richard further claims Combs forced her to rehearse for 48 hours straight without sleep, leading to severe weight loss, dehydration, and rashes.

The lawsuit also includes allegations of sexual assault between 2009 and 2011. Richard claims that Combs frequently touched her inappropriately, smacked her bare buttocks, and made comments about her body, calling her “too skinny” but noting she still had an “ass.” She also accuses Combs of participating in other inappropriate behavior, including an incident where she allegedly saw him and other men gang-banging his former female assistant at a hotel pool in Glasgow.
Richard is seeking compensatory damages for the mental and emotional distress she endured, as well as punitive damages and coverage of her legal fees.

Combs’ attorney, Erica Wolff, has responded to the lawsuit, calling the allegations false and suggesting that Richard’s claims are an attempt to profit off her recent album release and press tour. Wolff pointed out that Richard continued to work with Combs for years after her initial experiences, including joining him for Dirty Money and participating in the 2020 reboot of “Making the Band.”
Richard, who first gained fame on Combs’ MTV show “Making the Band” in 2004, claims in the lawsuit that Combs was verbally abusive toward contestants, frequently calling them “fat,” “ugly,” and “hoes.” She also alleges that in 2005, she saw Combs’ ex Kim Porter leave a studio with visible bruises on her face, further illustrating a pattern of abusive behavior.
