Mexican President Confirms El Chapo Has Been Caught
After being on the run for nearly six months, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has finally been captured.
The news broke Friday afternoon when Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto tweeted out the message below:
Translated, the tweet reads, “Mission accomplished. We have him. I want to inform the Mexicans Joaquin Guzman Loera has been arrested.”
The Mexican drug lord escaped from maximum security prison Altiplano on July 11 with an extremely elaborate mile-long tunnel that began in his cell’s shower.
