Lloyd hasn’t been on the music scene lately, but we now know it’s for a good reason.
The 29-year-old finally got his GED. A month ago, Lloyd took to Instagram to announce that he’d been enrolled in a GED course and planned on receiving his high school diploma. He revealed that when he got his record deal at 17 and moved to New York, he promised himself that he’d one day return to get his education. Lloyd also admits that learning how to manage money first-hand is great, but school was just something he had to do. He started the Instagram caption by saying, “Sometimes, moving forward involves taking a step backwards…”

It looks like he passed his classes with flying colors. Lloyd recently showed off his diploma on Instagram. He capped off his celebratory post with a few inspiring hashtags: “#GEDflow #Appreciation#finishwhatyoustart #youcandoit.”
Hopefully Lloyd will get back into the studio soon, because we could all use another hit like “Southside,” or the Lil Wayne-assisted smash “You.”
