The pitch is being finalized, and Overbook will begin shopping it soon according to reports. If all goes well, Smith will serve as executive producer alongside his partners, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
The ’90s version of The Fresh Prince helped to launch Smith’s acting career, and ran for six seasons on NBC, from ’90-’96. It’s too early at the moment to determine what network will pick up the show if it comes to fruition, but this is an idea that Fresh Prince fans can get down with.
