The highly anticipated film Chocolate City(deemed a Black version of the 2012 male stripper movie Magic Mike), held a screening in New York City this week, and the stars of the film showed up and showed out.
Cast members Robert Ri’chard, Vivica A. Fox, and Darrin Dewitt Henson were all smiles on the red carpet as they laughed it up with movie-goers. When asked about prepping for his role as a male stripper, Ri’chard (of Cousin Skeeter and One on One fame) revealed:
“Darrin came through with the choreography, but those were some of my own dance moves. It’s hard work, man. But it was a great experience. I’m trying to keep up with [Tyson Beckford and Michael Jai White].”
Ms. Fox revealed that although there are some similarities between Chocolate City and Magic Mike, this film is in a league of its own.
“It’s a really great film. The cast is amazing and who doesn’t like chocolate?” she joked.
It also stars Michael Jai White, DeRay Davis, and Ginuwine. Chocolate City hits theaters on May 22nd.
