Alicia co-founded the Keep A Child Alive Foundation, which aims to help child and families affected by HIV/AIDS, so it’s only right that she get to throw the organization’s biggest party of the year.
The “Diary” singer, who is expecting her second child with hubby Swizz Beatz, slipped into a glittery grecian gown for the 11th Annual Black Ball on Thursday! As the Mistress of Ceremonies, it was Alicia’s job to mix and mingle with all of the guests–like Aretha Franklin, Nas, Estelle, Diddy, Angela Simmons and La La Anthony–while she kept the schedule rolling along at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy was the guest of honor as he recieved a special award for all of his charitable and humanitarian work. His good friend Kanye West was among the fashionable fellas that came out to present him with the honor.
Whenever Alicia is in the building, it’s pretty much mandatory that she hops on the piano to give everyone some ear candy! She was gracious enough to share the mic with Angel Haze, Nas and Diddy during the event, though!
