One of the saddest stories in sports history is that of Steve Bartman. A man who went from a diehard Chicago Cubs fan to one of the most hated figures in Chicago Cubs history ever after he interfered with a foul ball at a critical point in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS between the Cubs and Marlins.
Many feel the interference by Bartman cost the Cubs a chance at their first World Series title as the Marlins went on to win that game.
ESPN’s 30 for 30 series has turned their focus on Bartman with “Catching Hell,” which will explore the life of Steve Bartman after that fateful night.
