Oprah Winfrey already has a talk show, a magazine, a production company, and a network — now, she also has her own street in Chicago.
In celebration of the contributions that Oprah has brought to both television and the city, longtime city mayor Richard Daley has re-named the street outside of her Harpo studio “Oprah Winfrey Way.” In celebration of the tremendous honor, Winfrey had this to say:
“Who knew a little colored girl from Kosciusko, MS who grew up on a dirt road would grow up to her name on a street in the greatest city in the world?”
This move is coming as one of many events in celebration of Winfrey’s finaly season. The show’s grand finale is set to air on May 25 — the final guest is being kept heavily under wraps.
