(CBS) — It’s been nearly a year since Gary Coleman’s death, and his body has reportedly yet to be  put to rest.

Coleman’s former manager Vic Perillo reveals in an essay, obtained by WENN.com and reported by the Huffington Post, that the remains of the former child star are still unburied.

Perillo says the burial plans have been put on hold because of the legal battle between his parents and his estranged wife, Shannon Price.

“This was not the proper and dignified manner to show respect for the magnificent talent the world TV and film audience knew in Gary Coleman,” Perillo said, according to WENN.com. “This was not the send-off he deserved.”

Coleman, the child star of the 1970s TV hit “Diff’rent Strokes” whose later career was marred by medical and legal troubles, died on May 28, 2010, after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage in Utah. He was 42.
