MVP race

How good are the Chicago Bulls? That question could be answered tonight as they host the San Antonio Spurs at the United Center in Chicago. The Spurs (45-9) enter with the league’s best record, while the Bulls (36-17) are 2½ games away from the No. 1 spot in the East.

The Heat’s LeBron James and Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudmire are the logical frontrunners for the Most Valuable Player award this season, but if voting was held today, my pick would be Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. With Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah missing time, Rose has been everything for the Bulls this year, averaging 24.5 points, 8 dimes and over 4 boards a night.
