Rickey Smiley Birthday Beach Blowout 2024

But he does get a victory. All the Confederate imagery will be removed from Gardini Prep. But Micah has violated the school’s vandalism rules and will get a 30 day suspension. That’s some BS, but Gardini’s white principal breaks it down to him in very real way. You can always do what you believe in, she tells him, but there will be consequences, unfair or not. Omigod, wait until Charley finds out.

Vi hasn’t told anyone but Hollywood about her lupus diagnosis. But Nova (Rutina Wesley) has apparently figured something out and Aunt Vi acknowledges it. This leads to a lovely scene between them. Nova vows to help her out with her healing herbal powers. But even she is worried. Aunt Vi is the rock of the family and if something were to happen…chile, we aren’t even in the family and we won’t go there.

Aunt Vi wants to see Blue because that’s her baby, no matter what. That’s right, Aunt Vi! Blue is thankfully still oblivious to his parent’s problems. And if Aunt Vi can keep it that way for as long as possible, she will. So Blue is getting his favorite meal and a lot of love from his family. The harvest is keeping him distracted, but sooner or later, he’s going to start asking questions.

The mill is not grinding at the moment, but Ralph Angel has to get his cane out of the ground. The farmers are shook. Ralph Angel has to harvest regardless and so do they, but Ralph Angel can’t get Charley or Remy on the phone. That’s because they and Nova are in a meeting to discuss what to do about the threat from the Landrys. Charley asks Remy to talk to the farmers (and Ralph Angel). She’s going direct to the Landrys. Oh boy. Ralph Angel has been strong and stoic all day, but the latest threat and his torched heart has defeated him. He heads home, alone, and ends up laid out on Blue’s bed.

Wow, what an emotional, moving episode. We hope you’re ready for the last installment of this magnificent second season next week. Reminder, it’s an extended episode that airs at 9 p.m. Eastern, instead of its usual 10 p.m. start, followed by a finale special with Oprah and the cast.

By the way, the ending song is “Fall into My Arms” by Ngaiire, available on iTunes. You’re welcome. We’d like to extend our gratitude to the music staff on the show that has found the right songs for every significant moment to date.
