The production titan was fired from The Weinstein company, which means his 23 percent stake is on the market. And according to TMZ, Jay-Z, along with “a billionaire, movie producer, and other investors” might be putting their bid in.
Hov has worked with Weinstein in the past. The duo created The Kalief Browder Story, a limited series on Spike that delved into the imprisonment of the Bronx teen who spent three years in Rikers Island awaiting trial—two of those years in solitary confinement—after being arrested for allegedly stealing a backpack. Jay is also working with the company on another series about Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen killed by George Zimmerman.
In his initial response to the allegations, the movie business juggernaut misquoted Jay, saying, “Jay-Z wrote in 4:44, “‘I’m not the man I thought I was, and I better be that man for my children.’ The same is true for me.”
The alleged victims continue to come out, with Hollywood notables like Rose McGowan, Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, Heather Graham, Asia Argento and Mira Sorvino joining the list.
