While promoting the upcoming sic-fi thriller “After Earth” co-star Jaden Smith revealed that he’s ready to leave the family nest. In an interview with The Sun, Jaden’s daddy shared Jaden’s plans to have a blow-out 15th birthday party with BFF Justin Bieber, as well as his birthday wish: ”He says ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we can do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place”, Will explained.

Will also said that he doesn’t believe in punishing Jaden, or his other two children, Willow, 12 and eldest son Trey, 19. ”“We generally don’t believe in punishment,” he says. “From the time Jaden was five or six, we would sit him down, and all he has to do is be able to explain why what he did was the right thing for his life. I think it’s a much more difficult question to ask someone —’Why was that right?’ — than to try to show them why it was wrong.”
