Today (Jan. 8), the official Verzuz released a statement that due to the surge in coronavirus cases nationwide, for the safety of those involve it's best that they not proceed for the moment.

"Thanking God that my mom is out of the hospital and my dad is doing well," Ashanti said. "Needless to say this will be a very different Christmas.. but still filled with gratitude and love."

The new Verzuz date is set for January 9, 2021 between the loved '00s singers.
