Continuing with the theme of religion, Game’s album cover features an illustration of Jesus with a red bandana over his mouth. The photo also finds Jesus with a tear drop tattoo on his face while rocking a Jesus piece on his neck. While definitely meant to be provocative, some of Game’s fans have blasted the album cover and him for his choice. Others have said the cover is brilliant and can’t understand what all the fuss is about. One tweeter said, “Your album cover is blasphemous……F**k you B***h!” most of the tweets supporting Game’s album cover say, “I’ve seen all the RTs, man, that cover definitely lives up to the hype. Absolutely incredible.”
When asked about the concept behind the album cover, Game told Rap Up TV, “You want to believe in God, but you don’t want to be criticized and ridiculed by people who think that they’re better than you. I don’t want to feel like I can’t love God or appreciate Jesus and have to put down that blunt.”
The forthcoming Jesus Piece project is set to drop December 11th. Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Trey Songz all lend their talent to the project. Along with them, Kanye West makes an appearance on the title track.
