The “30 Rock” star was immediately rushed to a Park City medical facility, where he was diagnosed with altitude sickness which is also referred to as mountain sickness.  Park City, Utah, stands at an elevation of 7,000 feet, and illness is brought on by a combination of reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes.   In many cases, the symptoms of altitude sickness can be mild, but if someone has a compromised immune system, the effects can be life-threatening.  In Morgan’s case, his diabetes could have led to complications, but apparently, he was treated quickly and without hesitation.

When Morgan was taken to the hospital he tweeted via his Twitter account:

Superman ran into a little kryptonite. The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn.

Upon his release on Monday, the 43-year-old tweeted praises to the medical facilty’s staff and expressed his desire to get back to his hit series.

With this most recent medical scare, rumors swirled that the always outspoken Morgan, who underwent a kidney transplant just a year ago, had actually collapsed due to intoxication.  According to Morgan’s publicist, Lewis Kay, hospital officials found no drugs or alcohol in the actor’s system.
