With Nate Parker‘s highly anticipated film “Birth Of A Nation” headed to theaters nation-wide this Friday, Jeff Johnson highlights the importance of the critically-acclaimed film’s central historic figure, Nat Turner. Turner lead a bloody slave rebellion on a plantation Virginia in 1831, recruiting slaves left and right until it spread to neighboring plantations.
