E! News caught up with Michael Strahan at the Ice Age: Collision Course New York Screening on the red carpet. The past cohost of ‘LIVE with Kelly & Michael’ was approach with the question of: “How is life after ‘LIVE’?”. Strahan’s answer is quite surprising as you can tell that he just wasn’t enjoying the set life of that show. It’s clear that he wanted out and just a clear head.

“You know what? I’ve learned to have fun. Life is not that serious.”

Michael stood next to his adorable 11-year-old twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella.

“We have so many things that happen that make you realize how precious life is, how you’d better enjoy every day and that your attitude is—you can determine what your attitude is….You wake up, you make yourself happy, you make yourself whatever you want it to be, and that’s how I look at it every day that I wake up and that’s been more than in the last few months,” he said. “That’s just the way I live my life.”

After leaving ‘LIVE’, the Giants star did stop by Netflix‘s Chelsea to talk about his departure from the show:

“I really haven’t missed it,” adding, “But I loved it. Don’t get me wrong. I loved it. When you get a break, sometimes you kind of go, ‘Wow, I kind of needed it.’ I needed a break.”

Mr. Strahan will be joining Good Morning America as a full-time co-host in September. He’s been serving as a part-time contributor since 2014, and is now moving up the ladder.

He says:

“Can’t wait to be there full-time. Great, great family to work with over there. I’m looking forward to it.”

Congrats to Michael!
