“Tamron and NBC News execs discussed it and decided together it was best for her to not fill in [Thursday or Friday],” a source told Page Six. “She’s been open about her friendship with Prince, so for her, this is more than a news story. She’ll fill in again soon.”

Prince’s medical examiner report was leaked Thursday (June 2), revealing that an accidental overdose of fentanyl was the cause of his passing. According to CNN, fentanyl, an opioid drug prescribed to cancer patients, is the cause for an increase in United States overdose deaths.

“He assured me he was OK,” Hall said of the last time she and Prince spoke. “He kept saying he was fine and asked me to come to Paisley [Park] . . . It was a sweet moment, and I had no idea it would be our last time talking. I never imagined it.”
