Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson had the honor of hosting the 25th Annual MTV Movie Awards, and (almost) all of it was hilarious.

We tune into the MTV Movie Awards every year to see which of our favorite films will get their richly deserved recognition. But it’s up to the host to keep the show rolling along and hold everyone’s attention. This year MTV hired a dynamic duo!

We’re not sure how I feel about his entrance. We get the Mad Max: Fury Road reference, but the optics make us a bit uncomfortable. A tiny Black man as a hood ornament? That’s a really bad look.

Fortunately, the rest of the show went much, much better from the moment Kevin and Dwayne stepped onto the stage. Here are some of our favorite moments.

Opening Monologue

The banter between Kevin and Dwayne  was good, and some of the funniest moments from the opening were when Kevin got to do what he does best–like conjuring up fire on demand for no reason. He’s had tons of practice shouting, “Get fire on these b*tches!”

But the shots Kevin and Dwayne took at each other were pure gold, especially the one that spawned the hashtag #DickInCake. Although the moment he called Dwayne “Chocolate Shrek” gave us a nice little cackle.

Kevin Hart Becomes A Hero

Kevin as Batman was hilarious, but the Dark Chocolate Knight needs to work on his Superhero stance. As does his trash talk. He might want to leave that to The Rock.

The Return of Chocolate Drop

After a long absence from the stage, Kev and Dwayne returned to rap about some of the great movies of the past and the present. Then they promptly returned to the shadows.

Kevin Doesn’t Handle Rejection Well

Kevin was more than a little mad when The Rock suggested that he might try to hire Melissa McCarthy for the next Fast & Furious movie. Apparently, Kev wanted a part, but Dwayne didn’t think he was right for the part…so Kev cussed him out!
