Barack Obama named Kendrick Lamar’s ‘How Much A Dollar Cost’ as one of his favorite songs of the year, and from that point on, the synergy of minds began.

The Commander-in-Chief sat down with the Compton born rapper to discuss the importance of mentorship and the state of the inner-city:

“I look at where I’m at today and realize that most of my success is owed to the mentors that were in my life,” Lamar says in the Pay It Forward video. “I sat down with President Barack Obama and shared the same views. Topics concerning the inner cities, the problems, the solutions, and furthermore embracing the youth, both being aware that mentoring saves lives.”

We can only imagine how incredible that meeting was for both of them.
