We are so sorry to report the sad news that Tami Roman of “Basketball Wives” has suffered a miscarriage. She was three months pregnant and confirmed the news to TMZ.

Tami Roman announced her pregnancy during Monday’s Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta after show, and a lot of people were surprised due to her age. There are a lot of women in Hollywood who have been a part of the over 40 and pregnant club like, Halle Berry and Eva Mendes, for example, who have had healthy children. However, being pregnant at an older age does comes with some risks.
It was also surprising because Roman, who is currently on Marriage Bootcamp with her boyfriend, Reggie Youngblood, seemed adamant about not having any more children. Roman has two grown children already, but her much younger boyfriend said that not having biological children was a relationship dealbreaker. It seemed like their relationship was doomed, but apparently not.
Necole Bitchie caught up with Roman, who opened up about her decision to have a child at this point in her life, and about being scared due to her age. Check out some of her points below:
On Her Decision to Have a Child at This Age
I am in a committed relationship with a younger man who has never had children. In an effort to compromise for the benefit of our relationship, and because I am in love with this person, I decided to have a child with him and I am happy I made the decision to do so.
On Fear Due to Age
I’m not going to act like I’m not afraid. Deciding to have a child at the age of 45 is very risky and when I first found out that I was definitely pregnant I went through a lot of emotions; fear, excitement, anxiety and stress. I find resolve in knowing that the person I am having this child with absolutely adores me and wants to build a family with me so I’m excited about the possibility of that.

Roman also briefly touched on her fertility. She said she conceived naturally, and didn’t have any issues, and she is inspired by women like, Halle Berry, Alyssa Milano, and Gwen Stefani, who have had healthy children over 40.
