On the Sunday prior to the gruesome discovery, church leaders expressed concern at the family’s absence at church service, since they hadn’t responded to any messages, and hadn’t been heard from at all since Tuesday, January 27th.

Court documents say that Tiharihondi used a lamp, a baseball bat and a hammer to carry out the murders, though the manner and cause of death is unavailable pending the completion of an autopsy.

In addition to 19 year old Tiharihondi, the Ahimbisibwe family is survived by another son, 17 years of age, who attends boarding school in California. Prior to the murder, 19 year old Tiharihondi claimed to friends and relatives that he was due to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps at the end of January. Upon police investigation, however, the military said they had no record of him being admitted.
