Thanks to Tyler Perry, an Atlanta family has a guaranteed roof over their heads for the next year.
According to reports, the filmmaker stepped in to help Xernna Nieves, a single, unemployed mother of four who was facing an eviction. She found the notice on her front door after turning from Make-A-Wish foundation event with her son Joshua Williams, who suffers from severe aplastic anemia and endured two bone marrow transplants. “I have no place to go. I really have no place to go,” she told with Atlanta’s Channel 2 news, and thankfully Perry was tuning in.

In response, the 44-year-old star reached out and offered to pay her rent for one year. “Thank you. Thank you for watching the news when you did,” Nieves said. “We appreciate it. It will allow me to get John back on his feet.”
According to the local sheriff’s office, Nieves eviction was scheduled for Tuesday morning, but the apartment complex decided to accept Perry’s payment.
“It’s just overwhelming,” the mom said of the good news.
“I just wanted to tell him, to thank him. My family and I, we thank you,” she added. “He didn’t have to come in person to pay it.”
