According to Eben Gregory YMCMB rapper Lil Wayne revealed during a recent discussion that he has no desire to go after rapper Kendrick Lamar lyrically.
“When you hear an older athlete talk about the game, some of them keep it real and let you know like ‘man I can’t get out there with these young boys.’ So that’s how I look at it now. When I hear a Kendrick Lamar verse, I’m like ‘aw man, I’m tired of this man’ [laughs]. I’m not about to jump out here saying ‘I’m the best.’ I don’t need anybody coming at my neck.”
Wow! We’re just not sure that Jay Z or Kanye would feel the same way but it’s certainly interesting. We don’t know if it’s just that Wayne isn’t hungry anymore…or if he just doesn’t care….or if he truly is ready to give his favorite mics to the next generation simply as a passing of the torch…but it somehow seems a little disappointing for whatever the reason.
