Paula Patton and her hubby nine years Robin Thicke publicly announced their separation last week. The news was shocking and devastating for many fans who didn’t see the split coming, but no one appears to be more heartbroken than Thicke.
The R&B star confessed that he wants to fix his marriage. “I’m just trying to get her back,” he told a TMZ reporter on Thursday. And during a concert in Virginia later that night, the said “I’m trying to get my girl back” before singing his hit record “Lost Without You.”
“For those of you who don’t know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago,” he told the audience. “But you know, I want everybody here to know that I’m trying to get my girl back.”
In response to her husband’s public cry for reconciliation, Paula has finally spoken out. “Everything happens for a reason,” she posted in a meme on her Instagram account.
“If you love something let it go. If it comes back to you, it’s yours,” it read. “If it doesn’t, it never was, and it’s not meant to be.”
The high school sweethearts, who are the proud parents to 3-year-old son Julian Fuego Thicke, said “I do” on June 11, 2005. Do you think they can work it out? Weigh in below.
